After another busy and successful year, we are on the lookout for unique, driven, and reliable talent  to add to our roster to take Beyond The W to the next level! Currently, we are looking to add the following to our starting lineup:

Social Media Intern

Beyond The W is looking to recruit a savvy, creative, quick-thinking, and reliable intern(s) to help with our social media accounts. If you live on social media (or even better, have experience managing one or more social media accounts), love the WNBA, basketball, and/or women’s sports, and actively keep up with news and pop culture, we want to get to know you!

The ideal intern will be responsible for assisting me with the following:

  • promoting content across our multiple social media platforms
  • brainstorming and implementing social media content and strategies with our editor-in-chief
  •  assist with special projects, giveaways, and live-tweet events
  • establish and maintain relationships with similar sites and the WNBA
  • assist with posting articles according to SEO standards
  • creating innovative and effective ways to attract new readers and maintain existing ones

Requirements include:

  • Experience with social media (we are mainly on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and SnapChat)
  • Reliable internet and email access
  • Writing and editing skills, graphic design skills are a plus
  • Knowledge of the WNBA and it’s players
  • Knowledge of overall basketball and fitness news/culture a plus
  • Flexible schedule
  • If you reside in the NYC area, that is a major plus!

This is an unpaid gig with the potential to turn into a paid position. You will be provided with:

  • A recommendation letter and/or college credit upon request
  • Access to games and events in the NY tri-state area (small stipend will be provided)
  • Hands-on experience that will help to build a popping resume

Freelance Writers/Contributors

Beyond The W is looking to recruit 2 talented, versatile, creative, quick-thinking, and reliable writers/bloggers/video content contributors to assist me and keeping the fresh content coming daily to our readers and can creatively capture and showcase the WNBA and it’s players both on and off the court.

The ideal candidates should a junior or senior at an accredited college/university with some experience in sports writing/blogging. If you’re not a student, sports writing/journalism experience is a must. Knowledge of the WNBA and it’s players is a must, as well as knowledge of overall basketball and fitness news/culture. The more passionate you are about the league and women’s sports, the better. 

This is an unpaid gig with the potential to turn into a paid contributor position. You will be provided with:

  • A recommendation letter and/or college credit upon request
  • Access to games and events in the NY tri-state area (small stipend will be provided if needed)
  • Hands-on experience that will help to build your writing portfolio and resume
