One of the latest graduates of Wright State University’s medical school includes a former WNBA player.

Alison Bales attended Wright State University in Fairborn just outside of Dayton, Ohio. She attended the school in hopes of obtaining her medical degree. Bales has accomplished just that.

Bales took that next step in her life after playing for five seasons in the WNBA. She played her collegiate basketball with Duke in which she provided an imposing interior presence. She managed 134 blocked shots as a sophomore (at the time, a single-season ACC record), then broke that record in her senior year with 151 for the Blue Devils.

Bales was picked no. 9 overall by the Indiana Fever, and played on the Atlanta Dream’s WNBA Finals teams of 2010 and 2011.

In her professional career, she averaged over one block and three rebounds per game.
