Seimone Augustus broke an 86-86 deadlock with a late-game bank shot that put the Minnesota Lynx ahead of the Dallas Wings 88-86. It would be the difference as Minnesota defeated the Wings by a final of 89-87 at UT Arlington’s College Park Center.

The victory for the Lynx ran its record up to 3-0 while the Wings currently stand at 1-1.

Augustus finished with 18 points and Sylvia Fowles contributed 27 points and 13 rebounds. Maya Moore added 21.

Skylar Diggins-Smith scored 22 for the Wings and Allisha Gray added 15.

Shortly after the Augustus shot, Diggins-Smith had an opportunity to tie the game once again at 88, but only made one of two free throws after being fouled by Fowles for her fourth personal of the game.

Karima Christmas-Kelly then picked up her fifth personal foul sending Moore to the line for two free throws, but made only one of two. Gray’s last-second three-point attempt was unsuccessful.

The Wings will return to the court on Thursday on the road at AT&T Center against the San Antonio Stars. Minnesota on Tuesday will return home as they host the Connecticut Sun at 8 p.m. eastern on ESPN 2.
