Becky Hammon a “top candidate” for Colorado State men’s basketball coaching job

The recent resignation of Larry Eustachy as men’s basketball coach at Colorado State appears to have ignited a desire for the Rams to go deeper than simply the normal head coaching replacement.

That replacement could come in the form of San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon, who played collegiate at Colorado State and whose jersey is retired there.

It’s the most frequently asked question I get, and recommended candidate.

I’m not closing the door on any thought.

Yahoo Sports is reporting that Hammon is regarded as a “top candidate” for the available job at Colorado State. Such a hire would be historic as she would be the first woman to be a men’s basketball coach at the Division I level.
