The Milwaukee Bucks plan to interview San Antonio Spurs assistant Becky Hammon for the franchise’s head coaching job, league sources tell ESPN. Hammon is the NBA’s first female assistant coach — and now will be the first to interview to be a head coach.

With the Milwaukee Bucks coaching vacancy open, they, of course, have their list of names that they are considering to fill that position with.
Per that tweet from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Becky Hammon is one of the names on that list.
She was previously a candidate for the men’s basketball job at Colorado State and being part of the Gregg Popovich tree with the San Antonio Spurs certainly is a big help for her candidacy.
Other names are on the Bucks’ list as well including Steve Clifford who was recently fired from his job with the Charlotte Hornets and Mike Budenholzer who departed from the Atlanta Hawks’ head coaching position.
To the idiots on twitter who think Becky Hammon doesn't deserve this shot…close your account, and move…..to an isolated island. This ain't the 50's fellas…

I hope Becky Hammon gets this job so bad. Not just cuz she’s incredibly qualified but to prove all these ignorant and uneducated trolls who live in a closet wrong. You’re “voice” may feel big on here but trust me, you’re living in the past. It’s embarrassing.

.@Bucks Dont even play around, why NOT just HIRE Becky Hammon , Interview for what? You know whats shes done, if you gonna be groundbreaking, BE groundbreaking why play games? Make some real history with your new arena @TermineRadio @Jumpshot8 @SiriusXMNBA

I can't believe that Becky Hammon discussion really happened today. She hadn't even been hired, just got an interview, and y'all really had a big discussion that she was cutting in line/getting special treatment. Unbelievable.

Not a Pander Tweet, I promise – but coaches who struggled badly like Bickerstaff or Silas are getting hired/interviewed, Fizdale juggled multiple offers after flaming out in Memphis, and even Mark Jackson is getting interviews again … but nobody is interviewing Becky Hammon?

Along with a considerably sizable support base on social media, Hammon’s candidacy also has another notable backer.
She went undrafted and had a very successful WNBA career as an undersized guard. She knows the game. In the end, it’s basketball. You’re going to learn a lot as you go along. She has basketball IQ, she’s a junkie. I think she can bring a lot.

It will be great if one day she will be a head coach. Maybe you have to train men a little different and you have to be a little harder on them, but in the end as long as you know your stuff, they’re going to respect you. And she knows her stuff.
