The UConn women’s basketball team will have a new radio station next season, but the voice of the Huskies will remain the same.
Bob Joyce, who has been the longtime play-by-play man for UConn women’s hoops will return to Huskies broadcasts as the team begins its new life on a new frequency starting with this upcoming season.
A few months ago, it was announced that UConn and its rights holder IMG had brokered a deal for women’s basketball games to air on iHeartMedia-owned ESPN 97.9 as opposed to its previous flagship of Entercom-owned WTIC-AM 1080.
The initial announcement raised eyebrows throughout the Constitution State and had people questioning if Joyce would be returning to make the move with the team.
