Recently, an LGBTQ Youth Center that the Phoenix Mercury’s Brittney Griner had volunteered at was vandalized in what is being treated as an arson case. It occurred on July 12.

She donated $5,000 to the one.n.ten center and also started a social media campaign to encourage more donations.

I was hoping that it was just a freak accident or something out of their hands, but then I heard it was arson and heard that it was someone that used to be in the program and aged out of it.

The man who has been suspected of lighting fire to the center has since been arrested.

The Mercury also donated an additional $1,000 and Griner, who has been a staunch LGBT advocate, will present a check to Linda Elliott, the youth center’s executive director during the Mercury’s game Sunday vs. the Stars.

This is just another example of BG’s thoughtfulness and compassion and humanity.
