Next year, the Chicago Sky’s home games will emanate from within the Chicago city limits.

It has been announced that the Sky will relocate from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont to the brand new Wintrust Arena located at Chicago’s South Loop close to McCormick Place. The arena will also be the home stadium for DePaul Blue Demons men’s and women’s basketball.

The Sky played at the UIC Pavilion prior to moving to Allstate Arena.

The agreement calls for the Sky to play at Wintrust Arena for the next five seasons per an agreement with the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority.

In April, Wintrust Arena was also selected as one of four sites to host regional games as part of the 2019 NCAA women’s basketball tournament.

It is scheduled to open in September and will have a capacity of over 10,000.

On behalf of basketball fans around the city, we want to welcome the Chicago Sky to their new home right here in Chicago.

The Sky will pay the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, the entity that owns McCormick Place and Wintrust Arena, $161,500 per season and $9,500 per playoff game, which is close to the amount the Sky paid to the village of Rosemont to play at Allstate Arena.
