Was it a new television contract with NBC Sports Chicago or the hiring of a new coach — the Sky let go of Amber Stocks shortly after the conclusion of this past season.
With everyone anxiously awaiting what the Sky’s announcement was, the big reveal was a new logo for the team.

This is an incredibly exciting time to be in for our franchise. We believe this new look is strong, modern, and refined, all traits that represent the next generation of Chicago Sky basketball.
–Sky President Adam Fox per press release
It also signifies the further rebrand the Sky have undergone. The team debuted in 2006 and until now have kept its original logo. Last year was the team’s first season back in Chicago’s city limits after playing for a few years at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena as they moved to Wintrust Arena at McCormick Place in Chicago’s South Loop.
On the coaching search, a hot rumor is going around that the Sky could be close to concluding their find.
There’s talk going around the #WNBA community that James Wade (Lynx & UMMC assistant) may be the front runner to become the Chicago Sky’s head coach. I assumed today’s announcement would be that but it wasn’t. I hope the rumor is true. I think he’ll be an awesome coach for them.

The Sky also announced that a new court design as well as merchandise will soon be coming as well…and that this may be only the beginning.
