The United States Women’s Basketball National Team will have its first training camp under new head coach Dawn Staley at the end of September. The camp is slated to take place in Santa Barbara, California.

It is scheduled to be held from late September until the first two days of October—around the same exact time that the WNBA Finals will take place.

This could mean a significant number of potential participants may not be able to take place if a team such as the Minnesota Lynx or Los Angeles Sparks advance to the Finals.

It will be the first preparation for Team USA as they look ahead to next year’s Women’s World Cup in Spain—which they have already qualified for.
