The accomplishments continue to stack up for Dawn Staley as head coach at South Carolina.

Conference championships in the regular season. Conference championships in the postseason. Final Four berths and a national championship. Staley’s resume as Gamecocks only grew as South Carolina earned a 67-58 victory over Kentucky.

The win is also Staley’s 300th career win at the helm in Columbia.

Staley’s No. 1-ranked Gamecocks have its eye on a No. 1 seed as the tournament looms closer. Winning the SEC regular season championship is a step in that direction. South Carolina is now 27-1 and remains unbeaten in SEC play. The Wildcats are 20-6 with a 9-5 conference mark.

Zia Cooke scored 20 points. Three Gamecocks had 10 points each – Herbert Harrigan, Tyasha Harris and LeLe Grissett (bench). Aliyah Boston also added 11 rebounds to her tally as well as three blocked shots. Harrigan brought in eight boards and Harris dished out six assists.

Rhyne Howard led the Kentucky effort with 24 points and 11 rebounds with three assists and one block.

The Gamecocks mustered 38 points in the paint to only 14 for Kentucky. They also got out in transition for 12 fastbreak points.

South Carolina travels to Gainesville to face Florida on Thursday. The Wildcats return home to host Georgia the same day.
