Cancer’s tail continues to take a beating courtesy of the incomparable Holly Rowe. And we are all chanting, “Hol-ly! Hol-ly! Hol-ly!”

As the anticipation builds for the start of the 2018 season (Two. Days. Away.) along with WNBA All Day on May 20, (Four. Days. Away.), ESPN decided to add an extra layer of spice on the opening weekend festivities.

Richard Deitsch of The Athletic has reported that Holly Rowe will be doing play-by-play for ESPN2’s telecast of Los Angeles Sparks vs. Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center. Alongside her providing commentary will be LaChina Robinson and Rebecca Lobo.

According to The Athletic, Rowe offered to call the game because of a scheduling conflict that had come up with Ryan Ruocco, ESPN’s signature WNBA play-by-play voice. She felt it would have been natural for her to assume Ruocco’s duties instead of ESPN handing them to someone less familiar with the W.

She is part of a clinical trial that concludes in August.

Very few people stumble into something in their 20s that they love, and I am still doing it in my 50s with just as much passion, energy, and excitement.

I think it suits my creative talents better, but I would love to do more play-by-play if my schedule permits.
