Just outside of Minneapolis and St. Paul is Hutchinson, Minnesota – where Hutchinson High School is located.

Hutchinson High School is also an alma mater of Lindsay Whalen, four-time WNBA champion with the Minnesota Lynx and current head coach of the women’s basketball program at the University of Minnesota.

The school board at Hutchinson has resolved to rename the indoor gymnasium after Whalen.

She led her school to three conference championships, is the HHS all-time leading scorer, and had her No. 13 jersey retired at the school. Whalen also participated in other sports while at Hutchinson.

A public ceremony will be on Nov. 27 at the Hutchinson High School gymnasium.
