The Seattle Storm’s resident Gold Mamba will once again be taking her talents to the overseas ranks.

A year after she played for one season for a team in Turkey, she signed a one-year contract with Shanxi Flame, a team in China.

Loyd averaged over 18 points per game while in Turkey.

The team had previously won three consecutive championships as part of the Chinese Women’s Basketball Association, but were eliminated in the first round of last season’s playoffs. Those championship teams also included the Minnesota Lynx’s Maya Moore.

As of this writing, Loyd, who was named last year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year, has averaged 17 points a game for a Storm that sees itself in the throes of a playoff chase. She also was named to the Select Team for USA Basketball’s Women’s National Team meaning we will continue to see much more of her on the international hardwood.
