It has been a rough 2016 for the San Antonio Stars. At 5-13 (albeit 4-5 at home), the Stars sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. Only the Connecticut Sun in the Eastern Conference have a worse winning percentage than the Stars.

That season just received even more adversity when the Stars announced that Kayla McBride will be out for the remainder of this season after sustaining an injury earlier this month in a game against the Minnesota Lynx.

The injury—a right foot fracture which occurred in the third quarter of the game. She was initially listed as day-to-day before the announcement her season had come to a close. McBride was the Stars’ leading scorer, average over 17 points per game for San Antonio.
