Ever since the departure of now former WNBA president Lisa Borders from the W’s top post, all has been relatively silent regarding the find for her successor.

Outside of an ESPNW report where NBA commissioner Adam Silver said the league had been ‘approached by interested candidates’ and had a ‘list of people it is approaching,’ the search for a new prez has kept WNBA aficionados guessing just as the search for a new owner of the New York Liberty has.

According to a new ESPNW report, another notable ‘Lisa’ has an interest in replacing the previous Lisa.

The Lisa in question is Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie, who told Katie Barnes that the presidency is on the brains.

It’s something that I am seriously considering to throw my name in for as well.

I feel like I could continue to help guide us in the right direction. I want for the league to be successful and have the best president possible, someone who wants to stay and help it grow.

Leslie had a decorated career, primarily with the Los Angeles Sparks and has since entered the media realm including as a host of CBS Sports Network’s ‘We Need To Talk.’

The idea of a former player assuming the presidency would be an interesting move given the WNBPA’s looming labor fight with the league itself.
