The dates have been set. The location has been announced. Time for the excitement to kick in!

WNBA President Laurel Richie announced yesterday that both the 2015 WNBA Draft and the 2015 WNBA All Star Game will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, which is home to the Connecticut Sun.

The 2015 Draft is set for Thursday, April 16th with the first round starting at 7pm on ESPN2, and the second and third rounds beginning at 8pm on ESPN3. This year, the Seattle Storm hold the 1st and 3rd picks in the first round, followed by the Tulsa Shock with the 2nd, the Connecticut Sun with the 4th, and the Chicago Sky with the 5th. “We are excited that the WNBA Draft 2015 presented by State Farm will, once again, be televised on ESPN2 in front of a live crowd at the Mohegan Sun,” said WNBA President Laurel J. Richie. “Our draft is a pivotal moment in the lives of these young women, and we look forward to welcoming the best collegiate players into the WNBA.” As per the official press release:

The draft will also be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 or Xbox One to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

The All-Star game is set for Saturday, July 25th at 3:30pm, and will be the fourth time the arena has hosted the star-studded showcase (2005, 2009, 2013). “With a history of sellout crowds and record-breaking performances on the court, Mohegan Sun Arena has proved to be an all-star venue for our midseason showcase event,” said Richie. “From our hosts – The Mohegan Tribe and the Connecticut Sun – to our players, and the diehard Connecticut fans, our previous All-Star weekends here have been unforgettable, and we look forward to joining with Boost Mobile to once again create lasting memories.”

As per the official press release:

Sun season-ticket holders will have an opportunity to purchase their current seat for Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2015 in advance of a public on-sale date. Others with an opportunity to purchase tickets prior to the public sale date include fans who purchase a Connecticut Sun mini-plan.
