W royalty was also honored when the SI Awards named its Inspiration of the Year. Moore was one of five nominees in addition to Jaylen Brown, Vanderbilt football’s Sarah Fuller and triathlete Chris Nikic.
Moore won.

Two years ago, she announced she would be sitting out the 2019 WNBA season to devote more time towards a social justice issue. The social justice matter first and foremost in the mind of Moore was that involving Jonathan Irons, a Missouri man who was sentenced to 50 years in prison for an alleged crime he was found to have not committed.
Moore was successful in her efforts in ensuring justice was done. Then, she revealed in an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America that she and Irons tied the knot.
