There are many factors that will make an individual or a family want to move to a new place. Sometimes, it is a better job opportunity. At other times, it is to escape the cold wintry weather of a northern city such as New York or Chicago. At other times, it can simply be for a change of scenery.

And in this case…the Minnesota Lynx.

Nick Halter, a reporter for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal wrote a feature on how Lisa Kellner and Andrew Stellman, two former Gotham residents, made the move to Minneapolis not only for cooler summers, but also to watch Lynx basketball.

The article mentions how the pair were not originally sports fans, but became enamored with women’s basketball shortly after the 2012 Olympics. Then they began to watch Liberty games, but wanted to move to another city with a WNBA team.

Based on Minnesota’s recent on-court success (and a 7-0 start to this year), it looks like their decision to move from the Big Apple to the Land of 10,000 Lakes was a sound one.
