Could a new look for the Storm’s home arena truly turn it into “The House that Stewie Built”?

Chris Daniels, a television reporter for KING-TV Channel 5 (NBC) in Seattle is reporting that the city is soliciting bids for a renovation to Key Arena, where the Seattle Storm currently play.

Little mentioned in the Seattle press is how Jewell Loyd, Breanna Stewart, Sue Bird, and company play in a venue that is in the middle of an arena battle in Seattle.

Bay Area hedge fund manager Chris Hansen recently unveiled a proposal to entirely privately finance an Arena in Seattle’s SoDo district—seen as a potential major step in returning NBA basketball to the city.

Key Arena has been a venue beleaguered for being a “substandard” venue by the standards of current professional sporting venues—including for difficulty in terms of mobility and access to the venue. The report says that Madison Square Garden could be one of the entities interested in a renovation at The Key.

Key Arena has been the home court for the Storm since the franchise debuted in 2000.
