Renee Montgomery joins Marshawn Lynch ownership group for upstart football venture

The business portfolio of the Atlanta Dream’s Renee Montgomery continues to expand.

Her latest business move involves her going into the football realm in tandem with one of the greatest NFL players in history.

Montgomery announced she has joined the Marshawn Lynch-led ownership group as part of the upstart Fan-Controlled Football League. Lynch’s team, the Beasts, is slated to play in Atlanta.

The new league also has other celebrity owners – including Richard Sherman of the San Francisco 49ers and Quavo of the Migos. Among those that will be playing in the league – former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel.

The new league will begin in February with 7-on-7 football with fans having control over attributes of the league including logos and play-calling. Twitch will have the new league’s six-week schedule.
