Skylar Diggins on being “dirt over dolls” and embracing her femininity

The Dallas Wings’ Skylar Diggins has definitely built a name (and a brand) for herself as one of the WNBA’s most recognizable and marketable personalities—both on and off the court. She has established herself not only as one of the league’s biggest names, but also an ambassador for women’s basketball as a whole.

In this video for Allure Magazine, she talked about her upbringing as a young girl, describing herself as a “dirt over dolls” girl that wanted to do anything the boys could do—and better.

But, according to Diggins, she can transform from “beast” on the hardwood to “beauty” off of it.

“Young girls always talk about self-esteem and body image. It’s about accepting you. I think everyone’s beautiful.”
