Current Las Vegas Ace and ex-Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty Sugar Rodgers has a book coming out chronicling her rise to WNBA stardom. It’s called “They Better Call Me Sugar: My Journey from the Hood to the Hardwood.”
The pages are available for preorder and all orders will ship on or before May 4. If all goes according to plan, it would be a great read for WNBA fans to get them jazzed up for the start of the 2021 season.
Given Rodgers is an ex-Lib, it is only appropriate she joined forces with Brooklyn-based Akashic Books as the publisher. Rodgers first announced the book’s release in December.

She tells the story of her rough upbringings in Virginia and how her siblings had many brushes with the law. Throughout it all, she persevered on that rough road to where she got recruited by Georgetown, then drafted in 2013 into the W by the Lynx – where she won a WNBA title in her first season.
