The pandemic has put the intersections between the business of sports and technology at the forefront. WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert talked extensively about this at the virtual CES 2021 conference in her seminar with Angela Ruggiero of Sports Innovation Lab, WWE’s Stephanie McMahon and NHL’s Gary Bettman.

SportRadar is launching SportRadar Connect, an event series that delves into the intersections between technology and sports business.

The first event announced will feature Washington Mystics owner Ted Leonsis on February 23. Carston Koerl, the CEO of Sportradar will introduce Leonsis and Sportico business reporter Eben Novy-Williams will moderate the seminar.

His session will talk about how the pandemic has impacted the landscape of sports business. Leonsis is scheduled to mention how the industry will recover, bringing in young and new fans, the overall fan experience, and eSports.

We’re excited to welcome Ted as our first guest speaker. He is one of the pre-eminent business brains at the intersection of sports and innovation and it is an honor for Sportradar to have him launching our new event series.
