Washington Mystics honored at Pepsi’s Historically Better Gala

In celebration of Black History Month last month, Pepsi held its inaugural Historically Better Gala at the Howard Theatre in Washington. Being in the nation’s capital, the event made sure to honor the successes of the District’s WNBA team – the defending champion Mystics.

Per Hip Hop Weekly, the Mystics received a congratulatory message from Monumental Sports and Entertainment brother Bradley Beal of the Wizards.

Terrence J hosted along with Naturi Naughton in addition to The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee and DJ Envy.

Among the honorees was Doug E. Fresh, Allen McKellar, Jr. and Dr. Angela Reddix. The list of performers included Rotimi as well as the Bowie State University Choir.

There was also a moment of silence to honor Kobe and Gianna Bryant.
