Remember the much-talked about HB2 “bathroom bill” in North Carolina that was called out for being discriminatory against the LGBT community.

It was also the reason why this year’s NBA All-Star Game was moved from Charlotte to New Orleans and why no NCAA men’s basketball tournament games are occurring in the state.

Now, apparently, Texas wants to get in on the act, but several athletes—including WNBA players, are pushing back against the proposed bill.

Among those are the Seattle Storm’s Sue Bird and Breanna Stewart, the Atlanta Dream’s Layshia Clarendon, the Phoenix Mercury’s Brittney Griner and Danielle Robinson, and the Chicago Sky’s Stefanie Dolson. They along with other athletes have signed a letter in conjunction with an organization called Athletes Ally that is aiming to defeat the proposed legislation in Texas.

I believe in fighting for a world that’s inclusive and respectful of players, coaches, and fans regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Among those who have also signed the letter include Martina Navratilova, April Ross, and Chris Kluwe.
