WNBA teams announce preseason contests

The regular season schedule was released not too long ago on the heels of the revealing that the New York Liberty would play the vast majority of its games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

Various franchises around the WNBA are now announcing its preseason contests. One of those teams is the Liberty, who announced they will be participating in a preseason tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut from May 7-8.

They will take on the Dallas Wings on May 7 and the Los Angeles Sparks the following day. The tournament will be contested in a round-robin format which will also include the host team Connecticut Sun who will play the Sparks on May 7 and the Wings on May 8.

Another team that announced its preseason slate was the Las Vegas Aces, who will play the Chinese National Team at the Mandalay Bay Events Center before heading on the road to College Park Center in Arlington to take on the Wings.

Speaking of those Sparks – along with the round-robin tournament they will be part of in Connecticut, they have also scheduled a third preseason contest. It is also against the Chinese National Team and that game will occur at the Hutto-Patterson Gym at Pasadena City College.

A pair of preseason tilts were also announced for the Atlanta Dream – both of which will occur on the road. On May 6, the Dream will travel to Chicago as the Sky play hoops in their new home of Wintrust Arena. Five days later, they head to Connecticut to face the Sun at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport – a one hour drive from Uncasville.
