The name Aerial Powers is one that rings bells in both the realms of basketball and gaming.
In addition to being one of the signature players for the Washington Mystics, she is also well-known as a Twitch streamer (PowerzSurge) and an avid gamer that she has turned into a successful venture outside of hoops.
Powers has now found a new dimension to expand her gaming exploits.

Powers was announced as a brand ambassador and content creator for Team Liquid, a global esports outlet. She was part of a Valorant tournament hosted by Team Liquid last year, according to The Esports Observer.
We both want to impact the industry through positive change and doing good in gaming. They also continue to grow and innovate in the way they engage their fans and support their partners β in and out of the arena. These are all things I want to be a part of and help push forward.

It is not the only notable professional gaming deal Powers has signed as of late. In October, she signed a deal with Ford Models under its eSports and gaming division. She said to the same outlet that she plans to bring her gaming equipment on the road during the 2021 WNBA season. Emphasizing diversity in the gaming space will be a primary emphasis of Powers through this new venture.
β¦ Iβll be working closely with Liquid on creating and elevating ways to improve inclusivity β not just within the organization, but across the industry. Weβre really going to lean into championing the next generation of women gamers.

She also mentioned that the influence of gaming and Twitch is only on the rise as it is now being used as a platform to register voters. Powerful women such as Stacey Abrams and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have used Twitch streams to register voters and promote their causes.
I think what Stacey Abrams did on Twitch to engage young voters was genius. Similar to what Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other celebrities did to galvanize the young voters for the Presidential election. There are over 133M gamers in America and most are in the age of 18-34, which includes a large group of young or first-time voters
