Flipping through your radio dials this weekend, wander a bit to the left to 92.1 and notice a familiar WNBA voice coming through your speakers?
You probably did – that voice was Las Vegas Aces superstar and reigning league MVP A’ja Wilson who was this week’s guest on the NPR comedy quiz show “Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me!”
Thrilled to announce that our guest this week is WNBA MVP @_ajawilson22, one of the greatest players to ever grace the court.
We’ll ask her about life in the bubble while panelists @funnyhelenhong, @MazJobrani, and @dulcesloan try to play defense. pic.twitter.com/B8oOJMPWYK

Fun fact – “Wait Wait” is based in another WNBA city – Chicago, so us WNBA fans who are also huge aficionados of NPR are wait-waiting for the Stefanie Dolson appearance.
Wilson is not the first guest on “Wait Wait” from the W ranks. In late 2019, Tina Charles – still with the New York Liberty at the time – graced the public radio airwaves.
Tin Charles has won two Olympic golds, the WNBA Rookie of the Year and MVP awards, and now is the starting center for the New York Liberty.
As a UConn alum, she’s a proud Husky, so @waitwait quizzed her on actual huskies. https://t.co/DBMKZGN7zs

Correction: The WNBA star’s name is Tina Charles –– not Tin.

It is good, NPR – we all have our Peter Sagal moments – even Mary Louise Kelly.
