The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh has organized a virtual event scheduled for February 17 that tackles how to fight antisemitism and fostering racial justice.
The “Athletes Against Antisemitism” seminar will feature appearances from several professional athletes – including Alysha Clark, two-time WNBA champion with the Seattle Storm and the newest member of the Washington Mystics.
Also joining Clark will be Zach Banner, an offensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers and MLB’s Josh Bell, a first baseman with the Washington Nationals and formerly of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
A portion of the event will also feature Rabbi Hazzan and Jeffrey Myers of Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue and hip hop artist Jasiri X. Clark, Bell and Banner will appear in the program’s second half and it will be moderated by Dr. Lauren Apter Bairnsfather, Director of the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh.
I’m hosting my first virtual panel!
Join me, @Alysha_Clark, @JBell_19 and Pittsburgh community leaders for a discussion on combatting anti-semitism and white supremacy.

Last year, Banner posted a video to his social media account that went viral. It urged unity within the Black and Jewish communities and was posted in response to antisemitic videos that were posted by Philadelphia Eagle DeSean Jackson.
This video is to transition from the incident, and move forward as a community. Not to harp on @DeSeanJackson10 mistake, but to progress by educating ourselves. We can’t move forward while allowing ourselves to leave another minority race in the dark.#Equality pic.twitter.com/MnLnCCYzQL
