For now, it appears that Becky Hammon will remain in South-Central Texas for the forseeable future.

Yahoo Sports reported last week that the assistant coach of the San Antonio Spurs will remain with Gregg Popovich and his coaching staff.

If Hammon were to have landed the Rams’ gig, she would have became the first woman head coach of a men’s basketball program in Division I history.

After the departure of former coach Larry Eustachy, many aficionados of the Colorado State basketball team felt the program needed to go in a different direction outside of the standard coaching replacement.

Hammon was reportedly being looked at as a “top candidate” for the open position.
