While WNBA (and particularly Seattle Storm fans) patiently await the start of the 2020 season – and Breanna Stewart’s return to wearing green and gold, she will still play in EuroLeague competition first.

Stewart, the 2018 regular season and WNBA Finals MVP (as well as FIBA World Cup MVP) signed a deal with UMMC Ekaterinburg in Russia. Among the other WNBA standouts the tam features on its roster are Brittney Griner, Emma Meesseman, Jonquel Jones and Courtney Vandersloot.

Stewart notably missed the entirety of the 2019 WNBA season after injuring her achilles in overseas play. The Storm still made the playoffs, but were eliminated by the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round a year after claiming the WNBA championship.

She recently made her return to action for USA Basketball in an exhibition against her alma mater UConn. She played 17 minutes and tallied three points in a 79-64 win for Team USA at the XL Center in Hartford.
