Liberty rookie point guard Brittany Boyd is set to miss 5-6 weeks following successful surgery to her left wrist.
Brittany fractured her wrist last week during their loss against Chicago after driving to the basket and landing hard on her arm. The rookie from Cal is averaging 6.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists this season.
This injury is so unfortunate, not to mention the timing. With the Liberty on the verge of gaining home court advantage in the playoffs that are days away, there is no doubt that Brittany’s energy, grit, and speed will be missed. However, Brittany could possibly return to the court for the WNBA Finals if the Liberty make it that far (which isn’t a far-fetched possibility). Needless to say, our fingers are crossed.
Best wishes to Brittany for a full and speedy recovery!
