The summit shined a light on efforts to “champion women in sports and fitness,” according to a press release.
Among those in attendance as well were Sydney LeRoux, Jennie Finch, Katie Holmes, Sarah Pickens (Vice President of Program for the U.S. Soccer Foundation) and former Olympic gold medalist and Laurens USA CEO Benita Fitzgerald Mosley.
The foundation also announced a three-year $5 million Sports Matter grant to the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s United for Girls initiative that has a goal of getting 100,000 girls playing soccer by 2023. Dick’s also announced sponsorship deals with USA Soccer and the Stand Beside Her tour, USA Softball’s slate of exhibition matchups prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
It was very special to have so many empowering women at our ‘Here for Her’ Summit this morning. Today is a proud moment for our Company and the Foundation as we announced expanded offerings in-store and increase our support for young girls to play sports.
