In her days after the WNBA, Chamique Holdsclaw has been one of the standard bearers throughout in sports in addressing mental health after battling her own mental health foes earlier in her life.
Holdsclaw and other sports luminaries will take part in the Kennedy Forum Series at Kennedy-King College in Chicago. They will talk about how teams and players are giving more attention to mental health both on and off the court.
Others slated to participate include Metta World Peace, ESPN’s LZ Granderson, the Washington Post’s Kevin Blackistone, NBA Mental Health and Wellness Director William Parham, the NCAA’s Jessica Wagner and Chicago Park District Area Manager Phillip Nelson.
The forum is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. Tickets are going for $15.
