Recently the Connecticut Sun’s Chiney Ogwumike made a major “girl boss” move when it was announced she would be hosting ESPN’s SportsCenter for viewers in sub-Saharan Africa.
There was no shortage of Ogwumike sightings on Thursday night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center as she on hand to cover the NBA Draft which aired on ESPN–and which was not devoid of luminaries from The W.

At the draft, when NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced the first pick, it was Washington’s Markelle Fultz to the Philadelphia 76ers. Fultz, of course, hails from the same school Kelsey Plum did when she was taken first overall to the San Antonio Stars in the WNBA Draft. Meaning both drafts had first overall picks that were UW Huskies.
Ogwumike, of course, knows a little something about being a top overall draft pick going first in the 2014 WNBA Draft to Connecticut.

Among those she also got to talk to was De’Aaron Fox who went fifth from Kentucky to the Sacramento Kings. They also have something in common—Cypress, Texas northwest of Houston.
