Remember when the WNBA and the WNBPA shook hands on its historic collective bargaining agreement at the beginning of the year? We know – it feels like decades ago.
One of the elements of that CBA was the launch of the WNBA’s “Changemakers” initiative which included three primary sponsors – Deloitte (which commissioner Cathy Engelbert was part of prior to joining the W), Nike (the WNBA’s primary apparel partner) and AT&T. All three company logos were displayed on both of the courts in Florida this past season.
AT&T this week announced the launch of the “She’s Connected” initiative to further demonstrate its outreach and commitment that fuses the realms of women, sports and business. Its first spot features Chiney Ogwumike (Los Angeles Sparks, ESPN Radio).
Everything comes down to human connection. That’s the essence of what makes us achieve and succeed.
–Chiney Ogwumike
If you make a mistake, you might be prohibiting the opportunities of other women coming up right behind you. That is what keeps me on point the most.

AT&T plans to release more of these video campaigns throughout 2021. A likely place one will see videos like the one featuring Ogwumike could be during TNT’s coverage of the 2020-21 NBA season.
