One of the many elements to weathering the storm that is the coronavirus pandemic is noticing how the deluge of troubling news day in and day out can take a toll on one’s mental health in addition to social sequestration.

Several of the most notable names in women’s sports – including the Los Angeles Sparks’ Chiney Ogwumike and soon-to-be WNBA draftee Sabrina Ionescu will participate in the #WeKeepPlaying livestream presented by the Women’s Sports Foundation and Yahoo Sports. The stream is scheduled for this Saturday at 4 p.m. and will be available via YahooSports.com and the Yahoo Sports app.

In addition to Ogwumike and Ionescu, who is projected to be the No. 1 overall draft pick to the New York Liberty in this month’s WNBA draft, other women’s sports notables such as Carli Lloyd, Katie Ledecky, Katie Sowers and Billie Jean King will join former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. The panel will be moderated by former ESPN journalist Cari Champion.

In this unusual period in our history, it can be difficult to maintain one’s focus and keep one’s eye on the prize. Ogwumike, Ionescu and the rest of the athletes taking part will speak to young athletes about the importance of maintaining one’s health – not only physically, but also on an emotional and mental level as well.
