As part of a charity initiative (according to The Guardian), she visited Avi-Cenna International School and Queens College – both in Lagos – Nigeria’s largest city.
At Queens College, she unveiled a redone basketball court and gave hoops kits to kids. She mentioned that success in basketball goes beyond skills when talking to those in attendance. Another focal point of Ogwumike’s speech – maintaining focus from distractions.
She also met up with kids at Teslim Balogun Stadium’s indoor hall – also in Lagos.
