Win a national championship—get a street named after you.
If you ever drive, walk, or bus past Colonial Life Arena in Downtown Columbia anytime soon, there is a chance you will drive, walk, or bus on Dawn Staley Way.
There was a parade in South Carolina’s capital city to honor the national champion South Carolina Gamecocks—and at the parade, Columbia mayor Steve Benjamin announced that a portion of the street near the Gamecocks home court will be named after the title-winning coach.
Really cool move – so far the “Dawn Staley Way” has worked out pretty well for the #Gamecocks https://t.co/jmux7QU6Yc

Staley herself also tweeted her thanks.
Thank you @SteveBenjaminSC and City of Columbia City Council for naming a street after me. #blessing #dawnstaleyway pic.twitter.com/gQMzZOPxbz
