Going into the hotbed of basketball and celebrity spectacle that is the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, Team (Michael) Wilbon made a late addition to its coaching staff.

This year’s All-Star Celebrity Game took place in Wintrust Arena this year – a venue DeShields knows plenty about being with the Chicago Sky. A few days prior to All-Star Friday Night, DeShields was announced as part of Team Wilbon’s staff for the Celebs Game.
If the results of last night’s celebrity game were any indication, Chicago’s very own adding another one of Chicago’s very own to the staff paid Willis Tower-sized dividends (**sees Chicagoans ready to throw tomatoes our way**)
Uh…we meant Sears Tower-sized dividends (“That’s more like it.” – BTDub’s Chicago readership).

Team Wilbon won by the way … and speaking of awards, the MVP also went to another of Chicago’s very own.

If not for an injury DeShields sustained while playing overseas, who knows if she would have been chosen to play in this game – and drop major numbers.
By the way … for NBA All-Star 2021 in Indianapolis, we want Tamika Catchings as one of the coaches. Make. It. Happen.
