We may be two years out from the premiere of SpringHill Entertainment’s Space Jam 2 as it is slated for a July 2021 release in theaters. But the anticipation for the flick has been building since it was first announced.
The list of who will be among those appearing became a lot clearer, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Sources: Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James, is expected to feature key roles for Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike. Several more NBA and WNBA players, including Chiney Ogwumike, are expected to play roles in film.

That’s right – several WNBA stars will appear including Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury and Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike, sisters on the Los Angeles Sparks.
Production on Space Jam 2, a production of LeBron James and Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther, will begin during this year’s NBA offseason.
Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and Anthony Davis, who will soon join #23 in Tinseltown will also have roles.
Other NBA notables, such as Kevin Durant are unlikely to appear due to shoe deals.
