In true MVP fashion, Elena Delle Donne made sure that she wasn’t the only Delaware native walking away with a win this weekend.
To celebrate her first Olympic win on Sunday in Rio, the first-time gold medalist teamed up with her friends at Nike as well as the Chicago Sky to gift a pair of miniature green Nike Waffle 1 sneakers to every newborn born at Christiana Hospital. Elena, who became the state’s first gold medalist in 16 years, promised that she would donate the adorable kicks to every baby born on that day if Team USA took home the gold.
In addition to having a partnership with a the Chrisitana Health System, our MVP entered the world at Christiana Hospital on Sept. 5th, 1989.
