It is not uncommon to see athletes featured in advertisements for companies such as Nike, Under Armour, or Gatorade, as the latter is the case in a new spot featuring the Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne.
What is fascinating about this particular ad is the tone it conveys and how it distinguishes itself from simply another garden variety spot.
Delle Donne opens up about the connection between her and her sister Lizzie and how she has had an influence on her on and off the court. Lizzie has cerebral palsy and is blind and deaf. The commercial goes into how wind itself is an important factor and how she and her sister communicate through touch.
