Of course they would remake “Sorry”….because…..Beyonce.
It’s no secret that the WNBA receives tons of hateful, misogynistic, and cowardly tweets on a regular basis, simply for being some of the most dominant athletes in the world. Usually, the ladies respond the best way possible: by continuing to play the game they love with grace, grit, and tenacity. However, the ladies of the champion LA Sparks have decided to take a different approach, and we are HERE for it!
Earlier today, the LA Sparks debuted a sassy, edgy, and necessary response to the haters: a remake of the Beyonce hit, “Sorry”. Dressed in black outfits that showcase their individual style and flair, the ladies address some of the meanest tweets (which are highlighted throughout the video) by letting the world know that they are not sorry for being who they are. Also featured in the video are ESPN’s Cari Champion and Holly Rowe, who have covered and are avid supporters of the league. Also featured were ANTM Season 4 Winner Naima Mora and model/vlogger Rachel DeMita. The black and white visual, shot by Davy Greenberg, was released in two separate posts on the team’s Instagram account, and is quickly making its rounds throughout the internet:
The full feature was also showcased during the halftime during their match up against the Phoenix Mercury. Here is the full-length version:

Sexy. Unapologetic. Badass. When the WNBA and pop-culture meet, magic happens!
In case you need a little reminder (or if you’re like me and always have time for “Lemonade”), here is the original video by Queen Bey, featuring a cameo by Serena Williams:
