Friends, family, loved ones, and the women’s basketball world at large is preparing to say their final goodbyes to the late, great Anne Donovan.
Visitation hours have been scheduled for the Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood, New Jersey from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 28. Two days later, a public celebration of her life will take place at Paramus Catholic High School starting at 3 p.m.
Donovan passed away last week at the age of 56 due to heart failure. She was the all-time leading scorer in Bergen County history and had a storied career as a player and coach.
On her coaching resume includes stints with the Indiana Fever, New York Liberty, and Seattle Storm. She was the head coach for the Storm when they won the 2004 WNBA championship and also coached the 2008 United States Basketball Women’s National Team to a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.
Donovan was a two-time gold medalist herself – including at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. She played and coached collegiately for her alma mater Old Dominion.
