Hoop Holidays: Five websites that can stuff the stocking of the WNBA fan in your life

It is that time of year once again!

Leaving the cookies and milk near the tree and fireplace as Santa makes his trek around the world, neighbors attempting to outdo each other to have the most lit Christmas decorations on the block and presents underneath the tree on December 25th

Oh – and not to mention MNBA basketball all day that same day too.

More than likely, though, you have a hoops fan in your life and would love to surprise them with some new women’s hoops merch as we enter the new year. As our friend Sky Show would say – WNBA, We Need Merch!

Here are a few sites we suggest to cop that merch for the ball aficionado in your tribe!

Playa Society

Of course, one cannot go wrong with some fly stuff courtesy of Playa Society. We remember they were in the mix at WNBA All-Star weekend and is an overall top site for women’s sports wear.

They were are plugging a 25% off Cyber Monday deal on various items. Among their offerings includes U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and NCAA merchandise for teams such as LSU and South Carolina as well as the Big Ten.

Check out the PS Originals section on the Playa Society website as well while browsing!

Oh…and must we mention….Black-Owned.

Black-Owned!

BLACK-OWNED!

BreakingT

BreakingT specializes in licensed merchandise across a variety of sports. As far as their women’s sports offerings go, they work in tandem with the WNBPA as well as the NWSL and USWNT players.

They have a “Watch More Women’s Basketball” t-shirt available from $28 – we certainly endorse that message and many more doing so as well. In addition, they have several “Bet On Women” tees – one of them LGBTQIA+ pride themed!

Another of their offerings with a positive message – a “Trans People Belong in Sports” tee inspired by the W’s very own Layshia Clarendon. Available for only $28!

Dick’s Sporting Goods

Anyone who is in the women’s sports space knows the massive strides made by Dick’s Sporting Goods over the years. Not to mention they have stood on business in terms of making women’s sports merch more available over the years.

Dick’s is especially a godsend for fans who happen to live in the (currently) 12 WNBA cities. And, yes – for our Bay Area folks – they have several locations in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose metro as well so we know they will be at the ready when the W’s new San Francisco team reveals its logo and colors as the Golden State____________.

Not only that, but Dick’s Sporting Goods is also the exclusive partner of Moolah Kicks items. And with the high school girls season getting underway around the country, some of their new styles and colorways may be exactly what your A’ja Wilson-in-training needs to up her game to that next level.

Nike Store

Of course, one will expect that there will be plenty of WNBA merchandise available on Nike’s online store. After all, they are the WNBA’s primary jersey partner.

Included in what Nike has on its website are jerseys for several players available in the explorer and rebel editions. We wish they and the W would do a better job in having more player jerseys available, but their current offerings will suffice for now.

Also available on their website are special shirts commemorating Diana Taurasi reaching 10,000 points, Breanna Stewart winning MVP and Aliyah Boston winning Rookie of the Year. We just have two asks on this one – make jersey shorts available and make the white heroine jerseys available!

Oh…and also Nike…we are still waiting for A’ja Wilson’s signature shoe and we will not stop until we get it!

Fanatics

Similar to BreakingT,  Fanatics specializes in products across a variety of sports leagues.

When clicking on the WNBA link on the main Fanatics page, it gives options on if one wants to search wears for the league or for a specific team.

Here is something unique we spotted while browsing through the Fanatics page – a WNBA iPhone glitter case that’s $30.39 with code. Also – a WNBA BaubleBar logo hoop earrings to style up that special someone for a nice night out after hours this holiday season.

Its website still has merchandise available from the 2022 All-Star Game in Chicago as well – as well as 2021’s in Las Vegas.

Honorable Mention – Team Stores

We have to give an honorable mention to the various online team stores our 12 teams boast.

One particularly has to give a special mention to the Las Vegas Aces team store. The Aces have had plenty of fun stocking said team store with plenty of championship memorabilia from their triumphant campaigns of 2022 and 2023. One of their Playa Society championship shirts that was available for $65 was such a hot ticket it already sold out!

The Liberty’s team store still has a No. 20 Sabrina Ionescu jersey available in the previous seafoam green rebel edition – not to mention slides available in the previous Lib logo from the MSG days.

There is also a Connected By Cause t-shirt and hoodie available on the Phoenix Mercury’s online team store that celebrated Brittney Griner’s return home to the United States. The words on the front of both read “Every Game is a Home Game.”

Other unique features at a few of the team stores include teams having merchandise available for their entire rosters (what a concept), the Storm having links on its page to Jewell Loyd and Sue Bird merchandise and the Connecticut Sun featuring mascot merchandise available as well!

The Chicago Sky are particularly in the spirit of the season with a special reindeer ornament available for the low, low price of $9.99! And one certainly cannot go wrong with the lifestyle link on the Atlanta Dream’s online team store!

Honorable Mention – Klever Shirtz

We overlooked this one, but how could we forget Klever Shirtz…

They particularly emphasize wears for the Las Vegas sports fan in one’s life. Needless to say between the Aces and NHL’s Golden Knights, Klever Shirtz has had plenty of fun selling championship wears for their WNBA and NHL franchises.

The Raiders still have some work to do, but they cater to aficionados of the Silver and Black as well.

At the top of the Klever Shirtz page is a banner advertising $60 off for orders inside the United States. Also at the top of their main page are apparel from their “It’s Women’s Sports for Me.”

#MustCop

“A’ja 22 MVP,” “JY0 Silent Assassin”, “The House Always Wins,” “Where There’s A. Wilson, There’s A Way,” “Two Shots,” “D’POY,” “Im’ma Always Shoot, IDC,” “Holla Back Young’n,” and “We Want Another Parade On the Strip” merch are also available!
