Last week, an announcement from the WNBA and 2K Sports made it official.
The announcement was that all 12 teams would make its debut in NBA 2K20 and that it would be available in both Play Now and Season modes.
We are excited to have WNBA players as part of this top-selling video game, helping to bring more exposure to these elite players, expanding our fan base and providing an immersive gaming experience featuring women role model athletes.
–Cathy Engelbert, WNBA commissioner (per press release)
Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks gave 2K credit for its ability to create such a realistic experience in its video game.
You can tell they are taking the time to capture the essence of the WNBA and have created an immersive experience that all fans of basketball will love.
–Candace Parker, Los Angeles Sparks (per press release)
We’re excited to roll out this new feature in NBA 2K20 because we know how important the WNBA is to the world of basketball.
–Jeff Thomas, SVP of Development, Visual Concepts (per press release)
Your point is to clown 2K for rating a WNBA player higher than an NBA player when the reality is that the ratings are relative to their respective leagues. Breanna Stewart is a better WNBAer than the other 3 are NBAers. https://t.co/iP9jCN7hi4

For those wondering, 2K would only tell me one player rating.
Breanna Stewart is a 95 overall. pic.twitter.com/acUXkD7MMZ

The ratings for two players – the Seattle Storm’s Breanna Stewart and the Los Angeles Sparks’ Candace Parker – are known. Stewie earned a 95 and it is a 93 for CP3.
The days are counting down to the game’s release on September 6.
