The closest WNBA franchise to St. Louis just so happens to be based up the I-55 in Chicago, but one of its most famous hometown kids apparently recognizes the talent of the W.
The Lou’s very own Nelly performed at the home arena of the Connecticut Sun – Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. While on stage, he shouted out one of New England’s most notable star athletes that is very familiar with the Constitution State.
Hot in Herre! 🔥 @Nelly_Mo brought down the house last night at Mohegan Sun Arena in his @jus242 @WNBA All-Star drip! 💧🔥 💦☀️❤️ pic.twitter.com/cxcakLeYdV

Yes – that is an All-Star jersey of the Sun’s Jonquel Jones, who was drafted in 2016 by the Los Angeles Sparks with the sixth overall pick, but has already established quite a resume for herself. She has made two All-Star appearances, was the WNBA’s 2017 Most Improved Player, the 2018 Sixth Woman of the Year, made a WNBA Finals appearance last year and will likely be in the title picture again with the Sun in 2020.
What can we say? Real recognize real.
