Prior to the New York Liberty’s “Unity Game” with the Minnesota Lynx, the organization co-hosted a panel discussion along with the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE) that also included a number of local activists and luminaries.
Among those on the panel included sportswriter William C. Rhoden, Juanita Holmes of the NYPD, Kristen Clarke—the President and Executive Director of the National Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, and the Liberty’s Tanisha Wright.
The discussion was moderated by Michael Eric Dyson.

In the pregame proceedings, the Liberty’s Kia Vaughn delivered a subtle but important message.
At the end of the day, I just want to send one message out. Let love win. Just let it win. Enjoy the game. Thank you for coming out.
